We collect information volunteered by you, such as your e-mail address for weekly prayer lists and daily prayer list updates, weekly website updates, OBC Member Updates (announcements for OBC members), your e-mail address and your friends e-mail address when you request "to send an article to a friend," and postal address for any free literature (Baptist & Reflector, booklets, Bible Study Course, etc.) requested for yourself or a friend.


We may collect information about you and your use of the OBC Website whenever you visit.  For example, we may collect various forms of information such as site traffic statistics, page views, operating system and browser type, and IP address. This information gathered will not personally identify you.
The information we collect is used to:
      1. Improve the design and content of our Website.
      2. Notify you of any updates to our Website.
      3. Send e-mail updates that you have signed up for and requested to be sent to your e-mail address.
      4. Send e-mail with link to article to you or a friend.
      5. Mail requested literature to you or a friend.
If you supply us with your postal address on-line you will only receive the information that you requested.

1. No Website other than the official Website of the Ooltewah Baptist Church, (hereinafter called the "Church") at http://www.ooltewahbaptistchurch.org and the official Websites of TBD (for example MOPS, http://www.obcrockgroup.com) that have been sanctioned by the Church, may use the name "Ooltewah Baptist Church or OBC" or contain, republish, refer to, advertise or take orders for Church literature or other copyrighted materials, in whole or in part, that are proprietary to the Church without OBC's written permission.  Each Website that creates an appearance of affiliation with the Church shall be subject to review to help ensure that its content does not violate the law or personal rights.

2. Local congregations or others claiming a Church affiliation who are using the name of the Church must not violate the Church's copyright(s), trademark(s) or service mark(s), or other intellectual property.

3. The only official Website of OBC’s is located at http://www.ooltewahbaptistchurch.org. Any other Website maintained by third parties claiming affiliation with OBC, or using its name in a way that is likely to convey such an affiliation, must display on the index or introductory page the following statement. In effect that statement shall say that they are not official Websites of OBC and that OBC does not endorse and is not responsible for the claims and representations made by that website:

"This is not the official Website of the Ooltewah Baptist Church (“OBC”). The only official OBC Website is at http://www.http://www.ooltewahbaptistchurch.org. They are not responsible and will not be held liable for the content, representations, or any claims arising out of the materials contained on this Website."

4. The Church may prescribe rules and ethical guidelines within which third parties (claiming an OBC affiliation) websites shall be required to conform. Failure to conform to these rules and guidelines can result in withdrawal of OBC permission to use the name "Ooltewah Baptist Church" in connection with that third party Website.

5. The Church reserves the right to modify this policy at any time with or without advance notice.

 


Broadcast Emails:

The Church Administrator sends “Broadcast” or “mass” emails to all members of the congregation.  They typically include weekly emails with pastoral messages and mid-week announcements as well as notices of newsletter publication.  Messages containing important general announcements beyond the regular weekly email or newsletter announcement require the approval of the Pastor.
